Unbreakable is Dr. John Rusin’s training app. It houses 5 unique on-going programs. Using the Pain-free Performance methodology, these programs are designed to train up all aspects of the human movement system: mobility, strength, power, hypertrophy, recovery, cardio and conditioning, and athleticism. These programs are delivered with nutrition guidance and expert coaching to help you feel your best inside and outside of the gym.
Unbreakable is for people who want to train without pain and see meaningful results. This is training in a way that doesn’t break you down over time. It helps you build an Unbreakable body.
Part of Unbreakable’s magic is its scalability – it meets you where you are. More novice members simply go lighter on their weight and use their available ranges of motion. We’ll provide movement alternatives where necessary. Each day is challenging enough even for seasoned pros. Everyone will find a fitting challenge on Unbreakable and feel their best.
No. We’ve built these programs to encompass all of the physical characteristics that should be trained each week. Choose the frequency that you can commit to and complete each week and the rest will take care of itself.
No, you will be charged every month (or annually if you select that option). As long as you cancel before your next bill date, your membership will terminate at the end of that cycle.
Workouts show up in your calendar right in the Unbreakable app. Each program has a calendar that will show your workout options in your personal calendar depending on which program you have chosen to follow to meet your scheduling needs. You’ll be able to see a week or more in advance so you know what’s coming and can mentally prepare.
The minimal equipment needed is a pair (or few pairs) of dumbbells or kettlebells and a set of super loops for the 3-day-a-week at-Home Pain-Free Dumbbells and Bands program. You can complete the other programs in a full gym or garage gym depending on your set up and equipment availability.
Our recommended equipment list includes:

If you’re using a commercial gym, you’ll be able to opt for a handful of specialty machines. You can also add other small pieces of equipment like kettlebells, medicine ball, and a step.
Each workout will take about 60 to 70-minutes to complete. Warm up, workout, finisher, cool down.
Training frequency is up to you! Whatever your schedule, our programs are delivered in ways that you can easily toggle between training frequencies without feeling like you’re missing out if you can’t train every day.
Our programs run at 3, 4, 5, or 6 days per week. The base programming is similar, we split up the work slightly differently depending on how often YOU can train.
Yes! Each workout has a programmed warm up. Depending on your body’s needs, there is also a Warm Ups Collection that allows you to choose the warm up that YOU need to perform at your best! The warm ups focus on upper and lower body mobility, upper and lower body stability, and core stability to prime the body to lift and move pain-free.
Every member gets exclusive access to the in-app discussion boards and messaging to ask questions, drop videos, interact with expert coaches and MORE. Diet, lifestyle, recovery, you name it! Everything will be covered and coached right inside of the app.
Each exercise is programmed with a demo video for reference and many of our movements have extended coaching segments so you can learn more about how to execute the lift with pristine form that works with your body and ability.
The Ultimate Pain-Free Performance Training program – everyone starts here when you join. You can easily select another training program to follow right in the app; be sure to unfollow the other programs to keep your calendar neat and tidy.
Programming is rolling, meaning there’s no set start or end point. While I’m certain you’ll do some movements that are new, you’ll repeat them for a couple weeks and improve each week.
Yes! We have multiple programs already and will be adding more specific programs as we grow!
Our at-home Pain-Free Dumbbells and Band program is designed for you to use minimal equipment. Bodyweight workouts are hard to progressively overload to keep you getting gains, which is why we offer the dumbbell and bands based 3-day At-Home program. If you’re short on equipment or are traveling, you can easily toggle into that calendar.

Unfortunately not at this time. Each member needs their own account so they can track their progress and get notified with updates within the groups. You may also want to follow different training calendars.
Ideally you follow one program at a time; if you need to adjust from 5 days a week this week down to 3 days for next week, you can do that in just a few taps inside the app. Each membership provides an all-access experience to our training, nutrition guides, and additional resources.
